German Federal Bar - Lawyers Without Rights

December 15, 2013 - February 2, 2014, the German Federal Bar in cooperation with the American Bar Association presented “Lawyers Without Rights.”  The exhibit featured true stories of German Jewish lawyers who had their rights to practice law denied by Nazi Germany, beginning by degrees in 1933 until completely affecting all Jewish lawyers by 1938.   An additional panel detailed the experience of Richmond Holocaust survivor, Israel Ipson, a Lithuanian Jewish lawyer who lost his right to practice law in 1936.
